A little thought comes in your head, you ponder for a while,
Something seems to happen and your poem takes it's style.
A summers day, a winter storm, a moment from the past,
Write it down, those precious thoughts, on paper they will last.
Share those thoughts with someone, expressing how you feel,
Poet's words can make a dream, the time that seems so real.
Remembering a friend you had, the first day starting school,
A holiday that's full of fun' playing by the pool.
Our children as they're growing up, a puppy that you bought,
Cherished times from long ago or just a passing thought.
Many things inspire us, as we journey on life's way,
Events that are real treasures or life from day to day.
Sometimes there are the sad days, it helps to write them down,
These are days so hard to bare and make us wear a frown.
Nature has it's colouring book and we can pick a page,
Above we have a universe, with earth our center stage.
Families to write about, pets and what they do,
So many topics we can use, some fiction and some true.
They say "the worlds our oyster" on that we should agree,
How truly honoured I can say of poet's words for me.

Poem Or Rhyme
Brian L. Davis
Do all poems rhyme
Not all the time
It's like a smiling face
That you seen someplace
Standing tall and proud
Way above the crowd
A poem should tell a story
It can be praising and talk of glory
It may speak of hate
Or even talk of fate
I'd rather hear a rhyme
Well most of the time
Sometimes it just rambles on
Many have become songs
The ones from the heart
Gave poetry it's start
The ones from the brain
They don't mean the same
So when you read a little poem
And your heart starts to warm
You'll know the words are true
You want be so blue
All down on yourself
Your love is all thats left
On that you can build
And if you have the will
You'll find the time
To write a little rhyme
